An evening with Fr Jacques Philippe

As the year comes to a close and Christmas approaches, take a few hours to be refreshed by the insights of Fr Jacques Philippe on the topic of "prayer and work". This promises to be an inspiring evening.

Fr Jacques Philippe’s writings on prayer, interior freedom, peace of heart, trust, the meaning of our lives, and other themes have become modern spirituality classics and have sold over 500,000 copies sold in 18 languages. Born in Lorraine, France, Fr Jacques joined the Community of the Beatitudes in 1976. For a number of years he lived in Jerusalem and Nazareth where he immersed himself in learning Hebrew and the roots of Christianity, before travelling to Rome to study theology and canon law. At that time he began to work as a spiritual director and formator of priests and seminarians in his community. In 1994, he returned to France, to undertake various responsibilities in his community including spiritual direction, the development of training in the Community, and participation in its General Council. For many years now he has dedicated himself to spiritual direction and preaching retreats in France and abroad. He has also authored seven books on spirituality including Thirsting for Prayer, Searching for and Maintaining Peace, Time for God and Interior Freedom.

Fr. Benedict J. Groeschel, CFR, says:

“Many have already benefited from Fr. Jacques Philippe’s writings on the spiritual life - and with good reason. His books offer clear, yet profound, reflections on important themes like: how to pray better, how to experience true freedom, how to handle suffering, and how to discern God’s will. I highly recommend these books to anyone seeking sound spiritual guidance along the path of prayer.”
